シェバの発見

歴代誌下9章は、シェバの女王が遠い道のりを越えてソロモンの前に立った日を描いています。砂漠の砂嵐を突き抜け、星明かりを道しるべとしてたどり着いた宮廷は、香油と黄金の輝きに波打っていました。
しかし、女王の息を奪ったのは富や装飾ではありません。彼女を魅了したのは、すべてを包み込むように流れる「知恵の香り」でした。問いを重ねるたび閉ざされた扉が開き、答えのたび天からの光が心に差し込みました。まるで夜明けの霧が晴れて現れる野原のように、心の奥に隠れていた渇きが澄んだ泉で満たされていきました。
そのとき彼女は悟りました。真の富とは倉に積まれた黄金ではなく、魂を照らす光であることを。ソロモンの栄光は玉座の高さではなく、神から流れ出る知恵と義に輝いていました。人の手によって築かれた宮殿や食卓の豊かさは目を喜ばせますが、魂を養うのはただ天からくだる御言葉と、その御言葉の中で息づく生き方なのです。

今日、私たちの旅路にも「シェバの女王の旅」が必要です。日常という砂漠を越え、この世の華やかさの彼方にある神の知恵を求める道。その知恵の前に立つとき、私たちは女王のように告白するでしょう。「私が聞いていたことは半分にも及びませんでした。あなたの神、主をほめたたえます。」（歴代誌下9:6, 8）

A Journey Like the Queen of Sheba
In 2 Chronicles 9, the Queen of Sheba travels far to meet King Solomon.
She finds not just gold and perfume, but the fragrance of wisdom in all she sees.
With each question answered, light from heaven fills her heart, and she learns that true riches are not in gold, but in the light that brightens the soul.

Solomon’s glory was not his throne, but God’s wisdom and justice.
Palaces and feasts may please the eyes, but only God’s Word feeds the heart.
We too must cross the desert of daily life to seek His wisdom beyond the world’s glitter―and there, like her, we will say, “I had not heard the half of it. Praise be to the LORD your God.”
